Construction and Civil Project Supervision

Survey supervision and quality control on major road construction projects and industrial projects is a further example of MHP's innovative spirit in developing services to the benefit of MHP's clients. Our surveyors have been appointed to numerous road construction projects in a supervision / audit and quality control role.

The all-encompassing service offered and the expertise developed is MHP's competitive advantage. This service includes:

  • Survey quality control and earthwork quantification for payment determination prior to and during construction phases;
  • Assisting resident engineers with management and budgeting tasks by data extraction and manipulation. This is substantially facilitated via actual field data;
  • Network control and Geodetic datums. This is especially relevant for road projects that cross National Borders, extend across a number of national grid systems or have more than one existing network in the area (NRB's, Trig and Geodetic benchmarks are often not on the same datum).
  • Survey requirement for environmental impact studies;
  • The determination of cadastral expropriation requirements and the survey thereof;
  • Alternative re-design options necessitated by onsite conditions.
Over the past eighteen years MHP has developed a sophisticated system for controlling earthwork measurements on major construction projects. The application of this system remains one of MHP's critical competencies.
